Robert E. Spears was born on October 10, 1949 in Martinez, California to the late Deacon Edward Spears and the late Mother Lizzie Spears. Robert was the tenth of twelve children. Robert was raised in Richmond, California. Robert graduated from Richmond High School in 1967 and joined the Job Corps. In 1968, he began working at the Hanford Site in Richland, WA. Robert began his career there as a laboratory technician, where he met his wife, Adrien Cameron. He later transferred to the maintenance department and became an industrial painter. He married Adrien in 1971 and they had three daughters. They were married for 53 years.
Robert loved the Lord; he was active and well respected in his church. He served as a deacon for several years at Trinity Church of God in Christ and Upper Room Church of God in Christ. He later joined St. James CME Church and served as a Steward and a Trustee. Robert also loved people. He loved to randomly stop by to visit with friends and would often bring his daughters with him. He was always willing to help someone out if he was able to. He also spent several years volunteering as a coach for Court Kids basketball.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Ed Spears and Lizzie Spears, and his siblings Nellie Jewett-Tahoo, Willie Spears, Randolph Spears Sr., Floyd Spears Sr., James Spears Sr., and Adolph Spears Sr.
Robert leaves behind his loving wife Adrien C. Spears and his three loving daughters Robin Spears, Andrea Connet (John) and RaChell Spears. His grandchildren: El Bass, Cameron Connet, Shauntal Bass, Luke Connet, Kyle Watson, Sydney Dau and Gabby Dau. His siblings: Edward Spears, Alvin Spears, Dessie Miller, Lavada Spears, and Edna Spears Conliffe.
