Obituary

On October 3, 2023 Robert Emil Rendall (Bob) quietly passed away at home in Kennewick WA. surrounded by his family. He was born on May 17, 1927 in Moose Lake, MN. He was the 6th child of Edward Olson Rendall and Hilda Ottelia Johnson, originally from Mello, Hegland, Norway. Bob was preceded in death by his siblings: Ella Larson, Olga Swenson, Herb Rendall, Ruth Rendall, Alyce Spring, and Elaine Stanley-Noll.

At the age of 16 Bob joined the Merchant Marines and sailed on various ships during World War II. After discharging from the Marines, he held various jobs across the States until 1952 When he moved to Kennewick to live with his sister Alice Halvorson. Bob worked at the Hanford works as a Bus Driver and he drove truck at the Hanford Batch Plant. He re-connected with Onie when she moved back to Kennewick in 1956 and they married later that same year. In December of 1956 Bob went to work for Inland Motor Freight, which later became Garrett Freight Lines, as a local driver. He retired from Garrett Freight Lines in 1989. Bob loved to hunt, fish, garden and taught his boys to enjoy these same sports. He also loved to play Cribbage and joined the Wapato Cribbage Club and played tournament Cribbage.

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years Leonie (Onie) Huihui Marcell and his four sons Rob, Ricky (Tessie), Mark (Roxanne) and Steve (Jennifer), 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was his nieces and nephews beloved Uncle and will be greatly missed by all his family.
