Bob Lindsey passed peacefully on Jan.3rd at the Chaplaincy Hospice House.

He was born on Aug 25th, 1930 to Rosco and Dorothy (Schantz) Lindsey in

Wetaskiwin, Alberta. He moved to Spokane as teenager and graduated from

Central Valley High School in 1948. He then attended WSC (now WSU) where

he was active in school politics and was elected ASB Vice President his senior

year. It was at WSC where Bob met the love of his life, Jane Moore. They were

married in Aug in 1951. After graduation he attended Syracuse University and

received a Masters in Public Administration.

Bob and Jane returned to Washington in 1953, where he began his career a

with the Atomic Energy Commission in Richland. The family lived in Richland

until Bob's job took him to Indiana University for 1 year and then to Washington

DC for 5 years. During his time in DC, Bob was an AEC liaison with the

congressional delegation from Washington, on issues concerning funding of

AEC's Richland Operation office. The family moved back to Richland in 1971

where Bob continued to work for the AEC in Richland as the Assistant Budget

and Finance Manager until his retirement at the early age of 52. After several

years of leisure (golf) Bob returned to work for Westinghouse and finally retired

for good in the early 1990's.

Bob loved to square dance, golf, travel and follow his Tri City Americans. He

was an original season ticket holder and only gave up those seats in 2020 when

mobility issues proved too big of a hurdle to attend. He and Jane were

members of the Prairie Shufflers, attending weekly dances as well as square

dance festivals across the state. After retiring, Bob and Jane literally traveled

the world, taking tours and cruises to too many countries to even list. They also

had a 4 week time share in Depot Bay, where they enjoyed many happy

memories. Bob was also a Civil War buff. He owned an extensive collection of

civil war books and maps and visited several battlefields during their time in DC.

In 2007 Bob moved to a cottage in the Canyon Lakes retirement community, to

be near Jane, who was living in Fleur De Lis memory care facility. Bob spent

many hours with Jane each day before her death in March of 2011. They would

have celebrated their 60th anniversary in Aug. After Jane's death Bob became

an active member of Canyon Lakes retirement community. He was active in the

Mens Club, volunteered at the facilities little store, the library and tasks as

needed He continued to travel, going on outings and trips sponsored by

Canyon Lakes. One of the highlights was a cruise to Hawaii where at age of 85

he took his first and only helicopter and zip line rides. He lived in the cottage

through the COVID crisis, celebrating his 90th birthday with a drive by party that

included friends and family. At 91 he moved into an apartment at the Manor.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife and three brothers. He

is survived by his three children: Dennis (Marta), Dale ( Lori) and Dana ( Scott),

nine grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews in Wa

and in Canada. Bob made many friends throughout his life. He attended his

50th high school class reunion and his 60 class reunion at WSU. The family

would like to thank his friends for enriching his life. We also would like to thank

the Joe Greene and the staff at Canyon Lakes who provided experiences and

opportunities that kept him engaged.

Per his request there will be no memorial. If you feel so inclined you can make

donations to the Hospice Chaplaincy House or Alzheimers. He lived a full life

and will be missed by all who knew him.
