Bob was born on November 19, 1931 to parents Martin and Alma Ilten in Whittier, CA. He went to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 23rd, 2017 at Hospice House in Kennewick, WA. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth, his son, Steven and daughter, Leah. Bob attended schools in Whittier, graduating from high school in 1950. He began his career with General Telephone where he was employed for 35 years. He moved to Kennewick in 1962. He also worked in communications at the Hanford area for 10 years before retiring- in 1994. Bob was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 54 years. He served as chairman of the congregation, an Elder and a member of the school board at Bethlehem Lutheran School. He was a part of Stephen Ministry and ministered in that area for many years. He was also a member of Ye Olde Car Club and he and Ruth enjoyed many trips, outings, and parades with them. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Alma, and his two sisters, Lorraine Stegemann and Ruth Scott. He is also survived by numerous much-loved nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Services for Bob will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2505 W. 27th Ave., Kennewick, on Friday, December 29th at 1:00 pm.
