Robert Leroy Garrett (Bob), 90, of Kennewick, Washington, passed away on July 19, 2014, in Kennewick. A celebration of his life will be held at South Hills Church on July 25, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery in Loomis, WA. Bob was born in Loomis, Washington, to Bert and Jessie Garrett on April 8, 1924. He graduated from Tonasket High School in 1942. Upon his graduation, Bob married the love of his life, Peggy Jo Osborne. Shortly thereafter, he served in the US Army and was stationed in the Philippines during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946, earning four medals of distinction. After his military service, Bob was a self-employed auto mechanic and used car dealer in Loomis, Washington, until he retired at age 80. Bob was also one of the founding members of the Loomis Community Church, where he served as a deacon and board member. Bob is preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister. Bob is survived by his wife of 70 years, Peggy Garrett, daughter Teri Newton (Virgil), son Mike Garrett (Timmi), son Scott Garrett (Lori), daughter Patti Hallstrom (Steve), and daughter Penni Cornwell, as well as 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
