Robert Henry Ganten Born in Center, North Dakota April 18, 1938, at age 16 he proudly joined the Navy, serving four years and then went on to further serve his country in the Army, during which he spent 31 months in Vietnam. He left the service at the age of 31, moved to Tacoma, Washington where he met the love of his life, Joan Ganten on Cloud 9! They started their lives in 1969 joining two separate families as one, they moved on to Center, ND where they spent the next several years of their lives. They brought three more children into the world, one of which they lost shortly thereafter. They moved to Kennewick, WA in July of 1979 where Bob was employed at the Hanford Nuclear plant. He then went on to work at the jobs he enjoyed most which were at Bait and Tackle shops and then Pawn Shops, making many more friends along the way. Bob enjoyed many hobbies which included hunting and photography. Although he was most passionate about his fishing and metal detecting. Along with spending his time with family and friends he often enjoyed the company of squirrels. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends in the mornings before heading home to tend to his garden and care for mom's flowers. They would often take breaks by playing cards with friends and family late into the night. Once in a while they might sneak away for a quick road trip to Wildhorse, another of their favorite pastimes! Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who always found the best in all people and taught his family to do the same. He passed away October 24, 2015 in Kennewick.
