Robert Lee Fisher passed away peacefully on August 3, 2012 at his home. Bob was born to Clarence and Flossie Oman Fisher in Colville, WA on July 31, 1929. He was a proud Eastern Washingtonian and spent his entire life on the East side of the state. He graduated from Washington State College with a degree in Pharmacy in 1952. After graduation, Bob enlisted in the Army and served a tour of duty in Korea, serving honorably on the front lines. After he was discharged, Bob worked at a drug store in Walla Walla where he met the love of his life, fellow pharmacist Shirley Hughes. After a short engagement, they married on July 17, 1955. Bob received an offer to manage Thrifty Drug in Kennewick and he moved his new bride to the Tri-Cities in 1956. Bob and Shirley were very busy, with two children joining their family by the end of 1957. In 1958, Bob and Shirley opened Fishers' Pharmacy in Angus Village in Kennewick and were very successful until they sold the business in 1972. Bob later opened Crown Drug in Pasco and a commercial real estate firm, Sterling Investments, in Kennewick. Bob and Shirley were also partners in several Hallmark stores. Bob was also busy in his community, serving as Chair of the T-C Visitor and Convention Bureau and President of the TC Chamber of Commerce. He and Shirley were 50 year members of the TC Country Club where he served as President of the Board. Bob left a proud legacy in the Masonic fraternity, serving as Master Councilor of DeMolay. He was a life member of the Kennewick Masonic Lodge as well as a member of Scottish Rite and Shriners International. Bob had a special group of friends, the McBuddys, who met at McDonalds every morning for coffee. He enjoyed his friendship with these men very much and his children would like to express their appreciation for their kindness. The day after their 52nd anniversary, Bob was preceded in death by Shirley. He is survived by his son, Brad Jennifer Fisher and his daughter Stacie Russ Hamilton as well as his grandchildren, Kevin Heather Walker, Megan Jason Bingham, Chelsea Jesse Goff, Lindsey Fisher, Zach Fisher and Quinci Fisher. Bob loved children and is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Addi, Westin and Bennett Walker, Lily and Brecken Bingham, and Kipton Goff. He is also survived by one sister, Jody Ed Taylor. In his last years, Bob felt particularly fortunate to have the close companionship of Pat Sime and his children would like to thank her for taking such good care of their father. A celebration of Bob's life will be held Monday, August 13 at 2:00 at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home at 1401 S. Union St. Kennewick, WA with a reception following at his residence at 178 N.
