Obituary

Robert "Bob" Alvin Erickson Bob passed away January 3, 2016 at his home with his wife by his side in Richland, Washington at the age of 82. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, one granddaughter, Elaina Stubbs (Chris), and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his only son, Randy Erickson and his brother, Eric Erickson. Bob was born in a rock house in Finley, Washington on September 16, 1933. He spent his young years running with all of his pals in Finley and graduated from Kennewick High School in 1951. He was drafted into the Army April 1953, and served in Korea until March 1955. He then was transferred to the Army Reserve to complete 8 years of service. Bob had many different jobs including driving beer truck. In 1975, Bob found Alcoholics Anonymous and changed his life forever. He was a proud and active member of AA for 40 years, January 13 would have been his 41st birthday. Bob loved to hunt and fish. He spent many hours on the river fishing with his wife and with friends. After his first heart attack in 1989 he was forced to retire and then took up repairing lawn mowers and boat motors. He especially loved tinkering with old boat motors and people who knew him often brought a motor in a box for him to reassemble. Bob also loved riding "Mr. Harley" and he loved to dance. Bob and Carol spent many years going to West Medical Lake taking the 5th wheel and boat and fishing with their good friends, Roger and Tina. The last couple of years, Bob was not well enough to take his boat out and fish. He really missed that. For several years on a Tuesday, he and Billy went to the casino for "geezer day". Bob loved to gamble and it was an activity he was able to do. God saw how hard he was struggling and the quality of his life had become so limited, he took him home to be with his son. He and Randy are repairing old motors in heaven, debating whose way is right. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family and all who knew him. There will be a viewing on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5-8pm at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St. in Kennewick, Washington. A celebration of life will be at Mueller's on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 4pm with a reception immediately following.
