Obituary

Robert Fredrick Duvall, age 84, passed away peacefully of natural causes the afternoon of August 20th, 2021; just shy of his 85th birthday. He was accompanied by his favorite music, family, and friends in his apartment in Tacoma WA. Known to most as Bob, he was born to Earl and Hazel Duvall on August 30th, 1936 in Louisville, KY into a family of 6 with his sisters Shirley and Mitzi and his brother, Art. They would soon move to Jackson, MS where the family would settle permanently. Bob left home early and, after a period in the Army, made his way to Lake Charles, LA where he would marry and establish his 50+ year career as a design engineer who was highly regarded and traveled extensively to meet professional obligations. As travel became less appealing, Bob settled in Richland, WA and met his future wife LouAnn to begin what would become a shining example for all of love and devotion during their 35-year marriage before her passing. Bob is survived by three children of his own (Kim, Rob, and Joni), 4 through his marriage to LouAnn (David, Laura, Daryl, and Lynne), and numerous grandchildren. Family was important to Bob and he spent most of his time with them in activities such as snow skiing, water skiing, hunting, fishing, or just enjoying each other's company in the evening. His passion was working with his hands and passing down the skills he had learned to his children and grandchildren. A man of principle, Bob touched so many with his passion for life and generosity and he will be dearly missed.
