Robert Lynd Coulson, 77, passed away in Kennewick October 18, 2014. Bob was born in Kennewick on March 24, 1937 to David and Beryl Coulson. The family moved to Finley in 1940. He attended Finley Grade School from first through eighth grades. He attended Kennewick High School and graduated with the class of 1955. He was a member of the Kennewick Gun Club and won numerous competitions. He attended Columbia Basin College its opening year of 1955-1956. He joined the Air Force in Sept. of 1956 and received extensive training in many service schools in addition to Yale University, Defense Language Institute, The University of Maryland and received his B.S. degree from the University of the State of New York in 1982 in Mandarin Chinese. He married Marlene Sonderman while in the Air Force and they had three sons, Jeffrey, Larry and Brian. He retired from the Air Force in 1982 and returned to Kennewick. He then worked for Hanford Patrol from 1983 until retiring in May of 2000. On August 31, 2004 he married Ollie Baird. Together they traveled all over with the Holy Land being the highlight of their travels. They volunteered every year at Fruitland Bible Camp where they met. Bob also served on the board there until he had to resign due to health problems. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife Ollie, his brothers David and Chuck, sister Kathy, his three sons, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at City Church, 4624 W. 10th Ave in Kennewick with burial to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
