With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Robert "Bob" Harold

Hoak, age 84, of Pasco, Washington. Bob entered eternal life on Tuesday,

October 8, 2024, at home with his devoted wife of 49 years, Sherian, by his

side. A Celebration of Life will be held at his home in Pasco. A small

family viewing will take place on Friday, October 11, 2024.

Born on May 26, 1940, in Bremerton, Washington, Bob was the son of Harold

and Carrie (Moore) Hoak. He spent much of his life as a hardworking truck

driver, but his passion for the land and labor of the countryside defined

who he was. Whether he was driving a tractor, bucking hay, milking cows,

changing water hand lines, Bob was the epitome of the "salt of the earth" –

grounded, steadfast, and dedicated. His early years were spent hauling hay

and working his family farm before transitioning to hauling asphalt and

fuel later in life.

Bob found joy in life's simple pleasures—tending to his garden,

meticulously caring for his lawn, and spending hours sitting in the sun,

soaking up its warmth all day long. His yard was his pride and joy, and in

true Bob fashion, he even waxed his beloved red hot lawn mower. Beyond his

love for the land, Bob cherished watching sports, discussing politics, and

spending quality time with his family.

He was also known for his love of making teeny tiny pancakes for his

grandchildren, a tradition that brought joy and laughter to the breakfast

table. A man with a hearty appetite for life, Bob had a fondness for Lay's

potato chips, spicy jalapeños, and hot sauce—things he claimed would "put

hair on your chest." These simple pleasures were just another way he

embraced life fully, with a smile and a bit of spice.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud

grandfather who lived a life of integrity, hard work, and love. Bob is

survived by his beloved wife, Sherian, and their three daughters; Kris

Williams (husband Thadd), Cheryl Shryack, and Niki Jackson (husband

D'artagnan). He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, seven

great-grandchildren, and his adoring cat, Skittles.

Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit lives on in the wide open

spaces he loved so much and in the rich love that continues to grow from

the seeds he sowed throughout his life. And just as he would say when you

left his home, "See you later, when your legs are straighter."

Rest in peace, Bob. You will be greatly missed.
