Obituary

Robert (Bob) Eugene Failor, 80, went to Heaven on October 24, 2026, from his home in Kennewick, Washington. He was born on January 1, 1946, to Glenn and Lois Failor in Topeka, Kansas, as the first baby born in Topeka that year. He was the third of four children.

Bob graduated from Lyndon High School in 1964. He served in the United States Navy for two years and was deployed to Vietnam. He later moved to Washington to work in the beef industry, then worked at Sullivan Manufacturing in Pasco until he retired. He would frequently travel back to Kansas to visit family, and he was a member of the Lyndon Methodist Church in Lyndon, Kansas.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ed Poertner. He is survived by his partner of 16 years (and caregiver for the last year until his passing), Patti Huff; his sons Shawn and Matthew, his daughter, KayCe (Kevin) Tost; his grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Mikael, Tyler, Justin, LilliAnn, Benjamin, and Elijah; his great grandchildren Mason, Myles, and Avelie; his brother Vernon (Pam) Failor; and his sisters Sue (Harry) Tiffany and Nancy Poertner.

Bob was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5785 for 51 years, consistently serving his fellow veterans. His favorite place to travel was to the beach, and his hobbies included watching hockey, playing dominos, cribbage, painting small figures, and tinkering in his garage. He was a very social person, seeing someone he knew everywhere he went. He had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
