Robert M. Bleeke was born March 19, 1941 in Carroll, Iowa to Rev. August Bleeke and Helen Kornwald Bleeke. He graduated in 1959 in Hartley, Iowa. Bob spent six years in the Army in the Office of the Chief of Staff at the Pentagon. After his military service, Bob moved to Madison, Minnesota where he was a business owner, County Commissioner and bank officer. He later moved to Anoka, Minnesota and worked for 18 years as manager of the Anoka American Legion. It was there he met his wife, DJ Carver. They moved to Washington in 2006 and owned Urban Sol Tanning in Kennewick for six years. Bob is survived by his wife, Darla "DJ", sister Joyce Kondes (Jim), Apple Valley, MN; children Brian Bleeke, Sunnyvale, CA, Suzanne Strack, Oakdale, MN; stepsons Anthony Carver, Becker, MN, Adam Carver, Chanhassen, MN; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donald. A memorial service will be February 28, 11:00 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
