Richard Keith Parmelee was born on April 28th, 1971, in San Jose, California, to Sandra and Richard Parmelee. He passed on Sunday, March 9th, 2025, in Seattle, Washington, due to complications from a blood clot.

From a young age, Rick enjoyed all sports, except baseball, and getting into trouble. After living in California and Virginia, Rick graduated high school in Marietta, Georgia. After high school Rick went to Rick's College (now BYU-I). He took a two-year break to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Calgary Canada, where he picked up his funny Canadian slang. After his mission he returned to Ricks where he met his wife, Toni Blodgett. They were married May 7th, 1994 in the Portland Oregon temple.

After finishing at Rick's, the married couple moved to Pullman Washington where Rick graduated with a criminal justice degree from WSU. While Rick never used his criminal justice degree in his later occupations, he joked that he used it to keep himself and his kids on the right side of the law.

Their first child Kimberly Jordan joined the family in September of 1997. The family lived in Kennewick and then Marysville, Washington until their second child James joined the family in 1999. After James Patrick was born Rick settled permanently in Kennewick. His careers included working and managing restaurants in hotels and later working for McCurley Dealerships in multiple capacities.

But that wasn't where his true passion was; Rick was best known for his love of soccer and his coaching. He first started coaching his son's rec team because they were down a coach, and he just never stopped. He was a member of the TCYSA board, the president of Academy of Soccer Excellence, and then a trainer for Fit For Soccer training group. Through his group Fit For Soccer with his dear friend Dan Ollero, Rick worked with youth of all ages, instilling the love of the game and preparing them to play at the collegiate level.

Rick was also known for his love of the Liverpool Football Club. Many of his weekends were spent with his grandkids, watching Liverpool games and singing "You Never Walk Alone".

Rick was a beloved friend, husband, father, brother and grandfather. He instilled his love of life in everyone he interacted with.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Sandra Parmelee, and his brother Jeffry Parmelee.

He is survived by his wife Toni Marie Parmelee, his children Kimberly (Tyler) Vinyard, and James Parmelee; His siblings Linda (James) Leary, Debra (Reed) Nelson, and Brian (Tina) Parmelee; His grandchildren Declan Keith, and Eleanor Marie. He is also survived by all those he helped teach and inspire to love soccer. He will be dearly missed.
