Richard (Jim) Ernest Heinemeyer passed away at age 94 at his home May 18th, 2018. Richard was born November 4, 1923 in Staton North Dakota. In 1943 after serving with the US Marines in WWII he moved to Washington State where he went to work on the Hanford Atomic Project as a heating and ventilating specialist for 31 years. He continued his employment with Battelle Northwest Laboratories as a Power Operator and Security Escort, which totaled 57 years working on the Hanford project. He also managed a horse and cattle ranch while working at Hanford. In 1944 he married Clara Loewen on his brother's ranch near Hazen North Dakota. Richard and Clara are survived by three children, Daniel Joe Heinemeyer and wife Christy, Gloria Boedeker and husband Ron, Richard E Heinemeyer III and wife Darlene, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The graveside service will be held on June 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1401 South Union, Kennewick, Washington.
