Richard Edgar Hansen was born on February 26, 1942 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Born to Della and H. Edgar Hansen, he was the youngest of four children. Richard and his family moved to the Tri-Cities in the 1950's where he lived for many years. A true 'Jack of All Trades', Richard spent time working on the Alaska Pipeline in the 1970s, he also traveled all over the western states as a union lineman out of the Local IBEW. Some of his other work included owning and operating Northwest Guide Service, as well as many years spent in the Bail Bond industry. Richard was famous for his incredible sense of humor. He could make just about anyone whose path he crossed laugh with ease. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and was an accomplished fisherman. Richard also loved to spend nice days at the dog park with his best buddy Beau. He lived an extraordinary life. He had three children born to him. Penny Oberstaller, mother of Nick Nuzum, Britney Lasby, and Brady Edwards; Brent Hansen, father of Courtney and Cheyanne Hansen (daughters to Hikao Hansen); and Troy Hansen, father of Madison and Hailey Hansen (daughters to Amber Hansen). Richard was also blessed with other children through marriage which he loved and cared deeply for. Richard is preceded in death by his mother Della, father Edgar, brother-in-law Larry, and his best friend and faithful companion Beau, passing just fourteen hours prior to Richard. Richard is survived by sisters Betty (Ron) Huffer and Babe Mattingly, and brother Donald (Becky) Hansen. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren (Journey, Jazmin, Teylan, Zoee & Kale). Also surviving him are many nieces and nephews who he loved and those which he shared a special bond with China, Tana, Donnie, Geri, Connie, and Karen. Richard lost his battle to cancer on March 10, 2015 at his home in Bellevue, WA. He had an immense amount of gratitude for those friends and family who surrounded him with love and support on those last few years of his journey. Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015, 1:30 pm, at Kennewick Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 7105 West 10th Avenue, with Masonic Burial Services to follow, 3pm, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
