Obituary

Dick George was born on October 6, 1943 in Richland, Wa to John and Clara George. He lived his entire life in Kennewick, Wa. Graduated from Kennewick High in 1962 and in 1964 married Rita Kay Knutson and their marriage lasted forty-eight years. Before having a family, he was drafted and served two years in the military. One of those years involved the Viet Nam Conflict. He worked for Chevron Chemical in Finley for 26 years and retired at 48. He shared his love for home and family with his three children, Scott George, Debbie Gillitt, and Kevin George. Becoming a Grandpa brought a special joy and love to his life. His granddaughters are Lauren and Rachel George. Thank you girls for all the smiles and laughter you gave him. Special thanks to Dr. Kohan and Dr. Jamali for their help and concern. He suffered a stroke on Oct. 15th and the grace of God took him quickly and peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane on Oct. 18. His best friend and confidant was his dog Buddy. Buddy passed on the same day as his best friend. He is survived by his wife, three children, two grandchildren, son-in-law Nick Gillit, sister Dorrene Gilbert (Bob), brother Loren George, sister-in-law Ethel George. He loved to say "See you on the other side" - and someday we will be with him again. Family and friends are welcome to come to our home at 314 W 30th at 2:00 pm on Monday Oct. 22nd. A private memorial will be held later.
