Richard "Dick" Edwin Jones, 75, passed away peacefully at home the evening of Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was born on September 7th, 1949, in Walla Walla, WA to the late Anna May Jones and the late Floyd Elmer Love.

Dick grew up in Kennewick, WA and attended Eastgate Elementary (during which he got invited to NOT return to The Boy Scouts), Park Junior High (where he first met his future father-in-law, Frank Naccarato, due to multiple visits to the counselor's office for excessive talking), and Kennewick High (where he met his future mother-in-law, Sanda Naccarato, due to needing multiple tardy excuses from her). It was also at Kennewick High that Dick met his future wife of almost 55 years, Sherri. He asked to borrow her cheerleading megaphone and promised not to yell profanities at the opposing team (he lied) and the rest was beautiful history.

Dick and Sherri moved to Spokane after they graduated Kennewick High in 1967 where Sherri attended Gonzaga University and Dick attended Eastern Washington University. They married in August of 1970 and moved back to Kennewick in 1972. Dick spent most of his career in Drivers' Sales for multiple milk companies in the area. The irony of never having milk in the house is not lost on his family.

Despite the grueling and unconventional work hours of a milkman, Dick never missed the opportunity to attend his kids' multiple sports activities ranging from hockey games in Canada, soccer and softball games in just about every state, and even going as far as Australia for a baseball tournament. No matter where Dick was, you would always be able to hear his booming deep voice of encouragement yelling, "Atta kid!"

He also loved taking vacations at the Oregon Coast with his family and friends. If there was a deck with a view of the ocean, that's where you would find him for the duration of the trip with a good book and a cup of coffee. He had a special talent for reading with his eyes closed which rivaled his other talent of pushing Sherri's buttons in good fun.

His favorite job of all was being the best Papa to his three grandchildren, Mya (15), Logan (12), and Vivienne (21 months). Countless hours were spent talking about cars with Logan, sitting on his bench in the front yard with Mya, and spending mornings at the kitchen counter with Vivi singing and dancing as Papa enjoyed his coffee and crosswords.

Dick is survived by his wife, Sherri of Kennewick; son Nicholas (April) Jones of Kennewick, and daughter, Bailie (Matt Sully) Jones of Spokane.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Parish in Kennewick in the small church. A reception will immediately follow at the St. Joseph's Parish Activities Center (PAC).
