Obituary

Richard "Dick" K. Green

Richard "Dick" K. Green, 91, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026.

Dick was born on October 12, 1934, in Akron. He later made his home in Kennewick, where he lived in South Kennewick with his beloved wife, Charlyne.

He is survived by his wife, Charlyne; his son Mark and wife Teri; his granddaughter Jordyn; and his son Jon and Cora. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family deeply.

Dick graduated from Miami University in Ohio and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force as a navigator, achieving the rank of Captain. Following his military service, he built a successful career in business equipment sales, working in Berkeley, California; Portland, Oregon; and Seattle/Spokane, Washington, before ultimately settling in the Tri-Cities area. There, he continued his career with Abadan and later spent the last 26 years managing the Tri-Cities Athletic Club, where he became a familiar and respected presence.

Dick had a lifelong love of sports. A standout athlete in his youth, he was an all-city second baseman in high school and captain of the varsity baseball team and remained active throughout his life. He was an avid golfer and a dedicated handball player well into his 80s. In quieter moments, he enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles, and he was a passionate sports fan.

Deeply committed to his community, Dick was an active member of Kiwanis International and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He lived his faith as a devoted Christian, actively involved in his church and guided by a servant's heart.

Dick will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and genuine care for others. He had an easygoing nature that made him a joy to be around, and he consistently saw the good in people. His thoughtful spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
