Richard "Dick" Frank Bryant, Sr., age 84, of Kennewick, passed away peacefully of natural causes on April 30, 2012. He was born on July 25, 1927 in Prosser, Washington to Vaile Sr. and Ester Bryant. Dick received his education in Yakima and at age 17 left high school to join the Navy during WWII. Upon his honorable discharge, Dick returned to attain his high school diploma. Afterwards, he attended Yakima Community College and later attended the Berlitz School of Language in New York City to study Russian. In 1947, Dick played baseball, along with his brother Neil, with the semi-pro baseball team The House of David. Baseball remained a life-long passion of his. He married his high school sweetheart, Leona Rose Sheeley, on October 28, 1950 in New York City. Dick and Leona moved to Kennewick in 1954 where they proudly raised their family and spent the next 42 wonderful years together. Dick retired from Boise Cascade. Dick's greatest joy was spending time with his family who he loved dearly. Grandpa's sense of humor will live on through his children and grandchildren, and he will be greatly missed and always in our hearts. Dick is preceded in death by his wife Leona, parents, sister Ruth Nelson, and brothers Neil and Vaile Jr. Richard is survived by sons Richard Jr. and wife Jill of Boise, Idaho, David and wife Liz of Richland; daughters Kathy Parson and husband Mike of Kennewick, and Linda Ledbetter and husband Pat of West Richland. Grandchildren Christopher Bryant, Kyle and wife Desiree, Carissa and Caitlin Bryant, Jessica and Jordan Ledbetter, and David and wife Stefanie Parson; sister-in-law Connie Bryant of Yakima, WA; along with several nieces and nephews. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks for the love and care of our father and grandpa to KGH Physicians and staff, Fresenius Dialysis Center in Kennewick a special thanks to Pat, local EMT's, Ben Franklin Dial-A-Ride, Life Care Center of Kennewick, and Emeritus at Richland Gardens. Viewing will be held Friday, May 4th, 2012, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 10th & Union Street, Kennewick. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 5th, 2012, 10:00 a.m., at the Parish of the Holy Spirit, 7409 W. Clearwater Ave, Kennewick.
