Rex Stuart went to his heavenly home on July 13, 2008, after complications from colon surgery. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 2, 1942 to Vernon and Jonnie Stuart. In 1943 his family moved to the Tri-Cities. Rex graduated from Kennewick High School in 1960. In 1963 he married Johnna Gore. He worked as a mechanic for 12 years before starting at Westinghouse Hanford Company in 1972, as a millwright. After Rex and Johnna retired from Hanford, they traveled throughout the U.S. in their motor home following the NASCAR race circuit. Rex loved car racing with Mark Martin that old guy - in his 40's being his favorite driver. They also spent five winters in sunny Mesa, Arizona, which they loved. Rex enjoyed Shelby Mustangs buying his first one in 1968 and '55 & '57 T-Birds. Wednesday mornings at the Spudnut Shop and the 'Guys Night Out' for dinner with his 'special buds' were the highlight of Rex's week. Rex is survived by his Wife of 45 years, Johnna; Daughter, Lynne Marty Tom; Granddaughters, Montanna and Michaela; Sister-in-law, Verna Bonefield Pete; Nephews, Randy and Chris Bonefield; Brother-in-law, Tom Irwin and family; and Aunt, Betty Thornton and family. Rex's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Bowers, Dr. Blanchard and the other Intensive Care doctors at Kadlec Medical Center and the excellent nursing staff in the Critical Care Unit. Friends and family are invited for a viewing at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union, Kennewick, Washington, on Thursday, July 17, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a Memorial service on Friday, July 18, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Garden Christian Assembly, 7425 W. Clearwater Ave, Kennewick, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska, 5130 40th Avenue N.E., Seattle, Washington, 98105.
