Rene Manuel Menchaca, 54, of Richland, Washington passed away on December 14th from cancer.

He was born on March 31,1970, to Ramon and Oralia (Lali) Menchaca. Upon graduation from Pasco High School in 1988, he attended Spokane Falls Community College and Columbia Basin College. He went on to study Business at Washington State University and graduated in 1995.

Along the way he worked a variety of jobs but spent the majority of his professional life working in contracts. For the past 3 years he proudly worked as a Contract Specialist for Washington River Protection Services in Richland, Washington.

In 2019 he was reunited with his childhood sweetheart, Alicia Menchaca (Eubanks). They later married on September 30, 2023.

Rene was preceded in death by his father Ramon Juan Menchaca, Sr. and his brother Ramon Juan Menchaca, Jr. He is survived by his wife Alicia Menchaca, mother Oralia (Lali) Menchaca, daughters Marissa Kerr (Davin) and Mercedes Brotski (Chris), grandchildren Lenda Kerr, Abigail Kerr, Davin Kerr, Jr., Caleb Kerr, Georgina Brotski, and Charlotte Brotski, nieces Sierra Menchaca and Jade Menchaca, step-daughter Natalie Barber, in-laws Gary and Marie Eubanks, and numerous cousins.

He loved people and lived a full life. He cherished time spent with family and friends. He valued staying connected to family and friends and was often found awake late into the evening talking and laughing on the phone to family or friends.

Rene had a generous and giving heart. He would do anything to help people and cared deeply for others. He would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it and would have given you the shirt off his back. His pride and joy were his grandchildren. He loved nothing more than spending time with his "babies" and spoiling them with gifts.

He enjoyed cooking and could always be found manning the grill at a gathering whether he was the host or not. He also enjoyed the challenge of catering events, and nothing gave him more pleasure than people enjoying the food he prepared.

He loved music and surrounded himself with it. He loved to sing whether it was in the shower, in the car, or doing Karaoke. He had a deep booming voice that filled the room and made you smile.

Rene was active in a variety of sports in his youth and particularly shined in high school football and Tennis. He continued to enjoy his love of sports by coaching and reffing different sports over the years. During the past few years, he could be found reffing AAU basketball games on many weekends. He prided himself on being a fair referee and was respected by coaches, players, and parents alike.

He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and was never seen on a Sunday without his Cowboys gear on.

Rene was a beloved husband, a devoted son, a loving father, a doting grandfather, and a cherished friend. He will be missed by all.
