Rebecca Ann
Wedberg
Jul 10, 1951 — Dec 14, 2025
Rebecca Ann "Becky" (Mansfield) Wedberg, age 74, passed away on December 14th, 2025, after a brief illness.
Born July 10th, 1951, in Pasco, WA, to Owen and Carmel Mansfield, Becky was one of nine siblings. A lifelong resident of Kennewick, WA, Becky graduated from Kennewick High School in 1969 then attended Columbia Basin College and Eastern Washington State University. After graduating with a degree in education, she began a thirty-year teaching career at Highlands Middle School.
It was during this time she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Wedberg. Bob, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, was Becky's perfect match, sharing her love of life and adventurous spirit. They married on June 29th. 1974, spending thirty years of marriage travelling the world, collecting memories, stories, and friends along the way.
Although never blessed with children of their own, their home and hearts were always open to their nephews and nieces, and the multiple foreign exchange students they hosted over the years. And then there were the pets, all loved and deeply cared for like the children of their hearts they were.
Shortly after retiring from teaching and moving into their dream retirement home, Becky lost her soul mate when Bob passed away unexpectedly in 2005. Heartbroken but resilient, Becky focused on the things that had always giver her joy. A voracious reader, she consumed books on everything from romance to history, sharing this passion with her book club. Along with her Red Hat Society sisters, she engaged in charity work, supporting many worthy causes. Homeless vets, at risk teens, animal shelters, anyone in need was a potential opportunity for her to help. Her lifelong interest in arts and crafts blossomed, with creation given as gifts to everyone. As always, there was the thrill of travel, exploring new places, having new experiences, and collecting even more stories, often in the company of friends or family.
Becky was also an original "Beatlemaniac," collecting their music and memorabilia since her youth. Her interest in the band never waning, the subject of the "Fab Four" would always bring a smile to her face.
Becky was preceded in death by her husband Bob Wedberg, parents, Owen and Carmel Mansfield, brothers Gene, Ray, Bill and Ted, sisters Merlene, Shirley, and Sharon (Hall). Becky is survived by her brother, Odie Mansfield, as well as multiple nephews, nieces, and in-laws. Final arrangements are being made by Mueller's Funeral Home in Kennewick, WA.
