Ray Pfliger passed away on August 14th, 2023 at the age of 87.
Ray was born at Our Lady of Lourdes and was a Pasco High graduate.
He met Norma Stelzig in the summer going into his Junior year. Their
first date was at the Benton Franklin County Fair. After he graduated high school Ray went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad. On February 26th, 1955 he married Norma and had 4 children. The railroad merged and became Burlington Northern. Ray was promoted to Clerk working in the tower and eventually became the local chairman of his union. His position brought opportunities to travel,
and Ray would often take his family with him to visit various states and cities. Ray retired after 42 years of employment with the railroad.
Ray enjoyed the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed collecting artifacts, camping, gardening, and providing the home for
yearly boat race get togethers. Norma and Ray were married 68 years and took many trips to Las Vegas, Reno and Laughlin, Nevada with friends and family. Ray and Norma walked Pasco's River path daily, he was a Mariners, Seahawks and Gonzaga fan and appreciated the quiet moments in life.
Ray will be loved, missed and remembered by his wife of 68 years, Norma, children Randy (Cindy), Tim (Chris) and Linda (Bob), grandchildren, Christi, Aaron, Lisa, Clifford, Mindy, Brittny, Stephanie, Cody, Chelsea and Cami, and numerous other great grandchild, and great great grandchildren, family members and friends.
Ray was predeceased by his parents and son, Kevin.
A service will be held on August 25th, 2023 at 10 am, at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Kennewick, WA. Ray will laid to rest next to his son Kevin.
