Raymond L Long joined his father and mother; Sterling and Delores, in death Monday, August 23, 2010. He was born in Wenatchee, WA November 4, 1926. Raymond served his country with the US Army in the Korean War and was an honorably discharged veteran. Ray enjoyed many years of travels across this great country, even more so after his retirement from GTE as an engineer. With his wife at his side, their most memorable times were their frequent vacations to Chelan, WA. These trips often included friends and family. After retirement they enjoyed several years snow birding in Arizona with many friends as well. Ray enjoyed talking with all people and welcomed everyone into his life?s adventures or mis-adventures. He was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed building toys from his wood shop. He came very close to giving Santa a run for his money. He was a prankster and loved a good joke and if you had a short leg, he pulled it for you. But it?s the little things that we will miss, his kindness, unconditional love, and thoughtfulness. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Genevieve; their 2 children Michael and Barbara; granddaughters Nikki and Becky; great-granddaughter Juliana; his brother Gordon, son-in-law Ron Sweatte and grandson in-law Jeff Cannella. Whether we say Ray/dad/grandpa/uncle Ray or papa, we thank you for loving us all so much. A ?Celebration of His Life? will be held at the family home September 11, 2010 at 1pm. In-lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer?s Foundation would be appreciated.
