Raymond passed away on October 6 at Kennewick Life Care Center. He was born Oct. 24, 1914 to John and Clara Indermuehle in Plainfield, Wisconsin. He was the youngest of five children. His parents, two brothers, two sisters, and two grandsons, Glenn and Mark Rogers preceded him in death. He graduated from Plainfield High School and completed courses at the University of Wisconsin Madison receiving a degree in cheesemaking. He married Margaret Collins, his wife of 58 years in Plainfield, Wisconsin on June 20, 1937. They were blessed with one child, Vicki who is married to Glenn Rogers of Ronan, Montana. Raymond and Margaret moved to Hanford, Washington in 1943 and he worked on Reactor construction and then transferred to nuclear operations. He lived in Kennewick from 1955 until present. From that time until his retirement, he worked at various jobs in the nuclear industry. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling and traveling. Many enjoyable times were spent with my dad fishing the Columbia River for salmon, the potholes by Warden for trout and crappies, numerous lakes in Idaho and Washington and ocean fishing off the Washington and Oregon coasts. Raymond was active until recently and actively bowled and walked a mile a day. He enjoyed playing bridge, bingo, working the daily crossword puzzles, and various card games at the Kennewick Senior Center. He always worked the daily puzzle in the paper and actively cheered on the Seattle Mariners. As a young man, he played drums and had a small band in Wisconsin. He and his brother Herb played semi-pro baseball in the early 1930?s for a farm team of the Milwaukee Braves. He owned several businesses in Plainfield such as a gas station, car and tractor dealership, and insurance agency. He was an avid bowler in the years when pins were set by hand and until a few years ago, bowled with a two-fingered ball. He bowled actively in Pasco until last year. He was also well known in Plainfield as a skilled pool player and hustled a few games along the way. His daughter Vicki Rogers Glenn Ronan, Montana, grandson Todd Rogers, Salt Lake City, Utah, and granddaughter Tammy Bryant currently in the Army at Fort Sill Oklahoma survive him. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a charter member of the West Highlands Methodist Church in Kennewick. Ray will always be remembered as a kind and helpful person. He was always willing to hear a story as well as share a laugh. He had many friends at the Desert Villa Apartments and cherished their friendships and visiting when he was ill. Union, Kennewick with a Graveside Service planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11th, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park 10th & Union, Kennewick.
