Obituary

Raymond M. Combs (89) passed away January 28th, 2018 at Three Rivers Place in Kennewick, Washington. Ray was born on July 20th, 1928 to Wesley and Oneita Combs in Burlington, Iowa. He moved with his family to Tri-Cities in the early 1940s. He worked as a truck driver for Morning Star Dairy, Carnation, Mayflower, and Darigold until his retirement. Ray met Joyce Wood while she was home from school. They married in 1949 and had 2 daughters Katherine and Laura. He loved traveling with family and helping out when needed. He also liked horses and spending time taking his granddaughter Carrie to horse shows all over the Northwest where he was known to most as "Grandpa." Ray is preceded in death by his parent Wesley and Oneita Combs, his wife Joyce Combs, brothers Wesley Combs, Douglas Combs, Russell Combs, Gary Combs, Gene Combs, Rex Combs, and sisters Barbara Blair and Linda Hernandez. He is survived by his children Kathy Newton (husband David) of West Richland, Laura Allred (husband Robert) of Kennewick, Grandchildren Carrie Walters (husband Colin) of West Richland, Raymond Newton (wife Heather) of West Richland, Melissa Allred of Pasco, Jessica Bailey (husband Mike) of Richland, and Julie Allred (Jason Eubanks) of Pasco, and his nine great grandchildren. Sisters Rose Campbell (husband Leo) of Sutherlin, OR, Joyce Combs of Kennewick, and brother Glen Combs (Patty) of Kennewick. A special thanks to all that cared for Ray and Three Rivers Place and Chaplaincy Hospice Care. In honor of Ray's request, there will be no service.
