Obituary

Ray Edward Knight (1936 – 2026) PASCO, WA — Ray Edward Knight, a man defined by a lifetime of hard work, quiet faith, and steadfast devotion to his family and community, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Oct. 4, 2026 five days after his 90th birthday.

Born on September 29, 1936, in St George UT, to Orval and Devona (Abbott) Knight, Ray’s earliest years were spent in Bunkerville, NV. At age six, the family relocated to, Idaho. He graduated from Homedale High School in 1954 and attended Dixie College before serving a faithful mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the East Central States Mission. Shortly after returning home Ray married the love of his life, Vanae Stoker on June 12,1959 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They shared 67 years together.

Most of his life was spent farming and dairying. In 1974 the family moved to Connell WA. Upon retirement from farming, he moved to Pasco WA. Ray was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including bishop, high councilor and temple worker. Ray and Vanae were parents to12 children: Jeri (Karl) Schull, Scott (Kelly) Knight, Kyle (Kelly) Knight, Jana (Tom) Black, Lisa (Kent) Olsen, Mark (Wendy) Knight, Becky (Chris) Eskildsen, Marci (David) Cox, Laron (Sonja) Knight, Nichole (Sam) Harris, Mikaela (John) Johnson, Kelli (Scott) Stapleton. He leaves behind 46 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and all four of his siblings, his daughter, Lisa Olsen and granddaughter Cassie Knight.

Services will be held on Friday, October 9 at 12:00 at the Pasco LDS Stake Center, 4618 Porto Lane, Pasco WA. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 8 from 4:00 – 7:30 at Mueller Funeral Home 1401 South Union Street, Kennewick WA & Friday morning before the service from 11:00-11:45. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Connell WA 99301.
