Ramona Marie (Colby) Fish was born March 10, 1933 in Harrison, Idaho to Miles and Altha Colby. She was the second youngest in the large Colby family. There were struggles being raised during the Great Depression, but the Colby family never wanted for love. Ramona was close to her siblings throughout their lives. Their childhoods were filled will love and laughter. Ramona would reminisce of the wonderful memories of her younger years, fishing with her siblings and learning resourceful skills like sewing and cooking.

Ramona graduated from Harrison High School as valedictorian of her class. She then went to Washington State University to attend college. When she was home on a break from school, she met the love of her life, Thomas Fish. The couple's mothers had become friends, and her future mother-in-law told her son that she had a "high priority blonde" that he had to meet. The two of them met up with some of their siblings to go sledding. The rest was history. Thomas and Ramona went on to build a beautiful life together where they set a high standard for their family of what marriage and family life should look like. The two of them were truly best friends and you could rarely find one without the other.

In 1957 the couple welcomed their first child a son, Michael. A few years later in 1960 they were blessed with another child, a daughter, Debbie. The Fish family resided in Kennewick in a small home on Hartford Street where they lived the picturesque 1950's life. Their household was a happy one, where Ramona took great pride in being a homemaker. Ramona was always found gardening, spoiling her pets, sewing, and cooking wonderful meals for her family. She truly found joy in being a mother and a wife. In the mid-70's the Fishes built their final home together in East Kennewick. Just as Thomas and Ramona always did, they built their dream home together. They spent countless hours crafting their home just the way they wanted. This home would become the center of many family events. Holidays, birthday parties, weddings, barbeques, and family reunions all occurred at this home. So much love was shared, and many wonderful memories were made thanks to Thomas and Ramona and all that they built.

In the 1980's Thomas and Ramona became grandparents first to their granddaughter, Kori, and later to their grandson, Matt. Two prouder grandparents never existed. The two of them were often found following their grandchildren around to sporting and school events. Also, during this time, Thomas retired and the two of them enjoyed even more time together as Thomas worked out in his barn on building wooden sailboats and Ramona enjoyed tending to the yard and the home. They also used these retirement years to travel, something they enjoyed greatly.

The family continued to expand, and the couple welcomed great-grandchildren. The couple were a great presence in the lives of this generation as well. When Thomas unexpectedly died, Ramona was left with a heavy heart, but she found joy in her family. Her later years were spent sharing her life with her kids and grandchildren. She also loved spending quality time with her sister, Donnie. The two of them had an incredibly close bond and enjoyed their regular outings and visits together.

Ramona returned to her Savior on February 26th, 2024. She was surrounded by her family in her last days. Her loss is felt deeply but the life she lived and the love she shared will continue in those who loved her. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents (Miles and Altha), her husband (Thomas), and her siblings (Roy, Melba, Lyle, and Mel), and daughter-in-law Debra Fish. She is survived by her children Mike Fish (Cindy) and Debbie Erickson (Chris). Also left behind are her grandchildren Kori Crowther (Joe) and their children Colby, Sam, and Katie, and her grandson Matt Fish (Jennifer). Her sister, Donna Svoboda, also survives her along with in-laws Richard Fish (Rita) and Denny Fish (Tracy). There are also many nieces, nephews, and friends who also survive her.

Funeral preparations are being done by Muellers Funeral home and a memorial will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank all those who loved Ramona and helped care for her at the end. Special thanks to the "From the Heart" and the Hospice staff who helped care for her.
