Ralph H. Worley of Kennewick, Washington passed away Friday, May 16, 2008, after a brief illness. Born August 25, 1919, in Trinidad, Colorado, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Mary Conrad Worley, his parents Charles T. and Blanche Worley of Kennewick, and his brother Spencer W. Worley of Denver, Colorado. Ralph joined the Navy in 1941 and became a SOSU Scout Observation Service Unit pilot. He was part of the SOSU 3 Squadron stationed in Alameda, California during World War II. He was a catapult pilot attached to the Naval Destroyer Astoria. His time in the Navy was one of the most meaningful in his life. Ralph and his family moved to Richland in November 1946, where he went to work for General Electric. Ralph went on to become Senior Project Engineer at the "N" Reactor on the Hanford Reservation. He retired in 1982 after 36 years. Ralph was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. He was also an excellent craftsman; making toys and building furniture for his family and friends. He was actively involved in the Kennewick/Pasco Elks Club, specifically the Roamin' Elks Camper Club. After retirement Ralph and Mary traveled frequently enjoying such places as the South Seas, South America, China, and Fiji. Ralph is survived by his children Jamie Worley Hills of Seattle, Larry Worley and his wife Cherryl of Benton City, his step-son Walter Conrad and his wife Nancy of Bremerton, his sisters Mary Jo Hopwood of Dewey, Arizona, Betty Lou Roth of Washington, D.C., and Patricia Reiter Kenneth of Spokane, Washington. He is survived as well by his grandchildren Kristine Hills Coffee Nathan of Juneau, Alaska, Justin Hills of Seattle, Silas Worley Nikki, of Benton City, Washington, Seth Worley JoAnna of Richland, Washington, David Conrad of Bremerton, Washington, Abby Conrad of Austin, Texas, and great grand daughters Rhys and Raye Coffee of Juneau, Alaska and great grandson William Worley of Benton City, Washington. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests remembrances be made to the charity of your choice. Graveside Services will be Saturday, May 31, 2008, 10:30am at Desert Lawn Memorial Park located at 10th & Union Street in Kennewick.
