PHILIP DONALD LEAHY 88, passed away on Saturday August 5, 2023. He was born
the oldest of 4 brothers to William Donald Leahy and Mary Elizabeth (Hayes)
Leahy in Baltimore MD.
Through the early years, the Leahys traveled from the East coast to the
West coast. Finally settling in the Tri-Cities WA. He served as a US
Marine.
Phil attended Seattle University and earned a BA in Philosophy. He later
went to Eastern and earned a BA in teaching. He taught in a 1-room school
house for 5 years in Vernita, then transferred to Jason Lee Elementary in
Richland, WA as a teacher for 4 years. He then served at Jason Lee as a
teaching librarian until his retirement. Phil and Marie were faithful
parishioners at St Patrick's Catholic church in Pasco WA.
In 1966 he married Marie (Schultz) that he met while they both were
employed at Hanford.
Phil was preceded in death by this parents and brother Paul. He is survived
by his wife of 57 years, Marie (Schultz), his children Matt (Sunday)
Auburn, WA, Chris (Kristy) Burbank, Erin Grillo (Mike) East Falmouth, MA
and his brothers Mike (Carol), Bill (Donzella) his 5 grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at St Patricks Catholic church,
Pasco. The viewing will be from 4 PM to 8PM at Mullers on Union, Kennewick,
with the Rosary recited at 6 PM.
