Peter Rictor Overlie, age 96, passed away peacefully on February 25th in Richland, WA. He was born May 5, 1920 in Zero, MT. He was the youngest of six children of Norwegian immigrants. He is preceded in death by his wives Iris Overlie & Sheila Overlie., his parents Erland & Marit/Mary Overlie, Sisters-Inga Labes & Ragna Beck and brothers Bjarne, Theodore and Edward. Peter's father worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad in Pasco, WA, then moved to Eastern Montana where he filed a homestead claim in 1910. The family moved back to Pasco in 1922.Peter followed in his Dads & brothers' footsteps working for the Northern Pacific RR as a brakeman until retirement. He also owned Iris Overlie Draperies and P&S Woodworking in Pasco. He enjoyed building & refinishing furniture. He was a World War II Veteran, receiving an honorable discharge from Army/Air Force. He met his first wife, Iris in England during the war, bringing her to Pasco in 1947. He was well known in the Pasco community and will be greatly missed. Peter is survived by his daughter, Linda Overlie Utley ( Richard), sons, Rictor Leigh Overlie ( Debi), Sean Patrick overlie ( Kristi), Grandchildren: Tina Leigh Stepenson ( John), Kizmet Kae Beasley ( Mike), Travis Overlie ( Helen), Justin Overlie ( Nataliya) & April Overlie. Great Grandchildren: McKenna Downing, Maya Stephenson, Molly Stephenson, Kyle, Travis, Luntayao, Jr., Luca, Trevor, Shane, Samantha, & Eric Overlie. A special thanks to Tanya & Andre Valsan- Badger Mountain AFH, Maricel Brest, Yadi Martinez, Victoria Hernandez, and Marci Bynum. These earth angels were very caring and kind to Dad. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Saturday March 25,2017- (1 pm) at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick, WA.
