Peter MacLean Jackson was a man who could do anything he set his mind to. He was a loyal friend and a talented restorer of antique cars. He believed his greatest achievement was his family. Born in Spokane on June 11, 1927 to Peter MacLean Jackson Sr. and Ethel Danson, Pete died November 11, 2023 at 96.

Pete was a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane and received his mechanical engineering degree from Washington State College in Pullman. Following graduation in 1951, he moved to Richland where he began a 37 year career at Hanford. Pete was proud to earn the rank of Eagle Scout and served in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII. He was a long-time member of the Columbia Basin Model A Club and Ye Olde Car Club of the Tri-Cities.

Two wonderful women loved Pete. With Marlene Jones, he planned for the future, built a home and raised a family. With Grace VanWoudenberg Crisp, he enjoyed retirement and traveled the world. He is predeceased by his wives, his sisters Barbara McMillin and Phyllis Madsen, his nephews Steve McMillin and Stephen Miller, his brothers-in-law Joseph Miller and Gerald McMillin, and many lifelong friends. Pete is survived by his family: Karen and Jim Wierenga and children Jamie (Kristin) Wierenga, Julie (Keenan) Damery and Jake (Becca Meekhof) Wierenga; Kristi and Jim Akers and children Matthew (Abby) Akers and Andrew (Krista) Akers; Lisa and Toby Albers; David and Pam Jackson and children Kaylene (Trevor) Williams and Christopher (Ashlee) Jackson; and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving him are his beloved niece/fourth daughter Kathleen McMillin Gallagher, nephews Peter McMillin, Donald McMillin, niece Lori Miller Peterson, sister-in-law Sandra Miller, and Grace's children Mike, Tim, and Karen Crisp.

Pete was born at a time when you fixed what was broken. He believed money didn't grow on trees and that hard work never hurt anyone. His work ethic taught his children that things worth doing are worth doing well.

After 71 years in Kennewick, Pete moved to the Seattle area to be near family. We are grateful to have had this time with him to visit, to hold his hand, to tell stories and to laugh. He is missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Life Tributes Center at 314 W First Ave in Kennewick at 2:00 on Friday, April 26, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Spokane.
