Pauline Gayda, known as Polly to her family and friends, passed away on December 23, 2011. Polly was born in Ayrshire, Iowa to Reuben and Leona Livingston on April 16, 1932. She grew up in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She married John Gayda in 1954. The couple had two sons, Daniel and Keith, and moved to Richland in 1961. Polly greatly enjoyed life with family and friends. She was an avid bowler at the Atomic Lanes in Richland. In 1971 Polly was employed as a bookkeeper at Dawson-Richards Clothing Store in Richland where she worked for many years. In 1982, John and Polly moved to Burbank. They lived there until John passed away in May of this year. Polly then moved to the Manor at Canyon Lakes in Kennewick. In addition to her husband John, Polly was preceded in death by her son Daniel in 2010. She is survived by her son Keith; daughter-in-law Sheryl Sam; grandsons Kristopher and Jacob; brothers Victor, Robert, Richard, and James Livingston; and sister Mary MacNeil. A service will be held at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home, 1608 W. Court St, Pasco on Thursday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at Country View Cemetery in Basin City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice at the Chaplaincy, 1480 Fowler St, Richland, WA 99352.
