Paula J. Ward died Monday, Nov. 6, at her home in Kennewick. She was active in the Tri-Cities after moving here in the spring of 1974. In the early years, she worked for the Washington State Department of Corrections. In the 1980s, she started a company called Athletics Unlimited. Out of her home, she handled uniform /equipment repairs and did lettering, numbering and embroidery. Her clients included, the Tri-City Americans, Tri-City Dust Devils, Kennewick High School, Tri-City Prep, Tri-City Fever, Tri-City Posse and the Tri-City Chinook and various other teams and individuals in the United States and Canada. During the Goodwill Games at the Tri-City Coliseum in 1990, she worked for the Swedish and Swiss national hockey teams. She is survived by her husband, Bill of Kennewick; sons, Richard and wife, Ronda of Richland, Greg and wife, Connie of South Carolina; a twin brother Paul Hoglund of Canby, Ore.; grandchildren, Dellas, Rachelynne, Payton, Dylan, John, Christian, Adrien and Trina; niece Michelle; nephews, Paul and Eric; plus numerous great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life for Paula Joanne Ward will be Monday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Founders Club at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
