Obituary

Paul Joseph Wegner passed away on October 12, 2025, in West Richland, WA with his wife, Carolina and son, Jayden at his side. He was born on January 21, 1965, in Stillwater, MN, and spent most of his childhood and early adult years in Eau Claire, WI. Later, Paul settled in Rosemount, MN, where he started his family and was blessed with three daughters, Chelsea, Lindsey and Marissa.

Paul built a career in the energy sector, advancing through roles in oil, electric, and eventually nuclear power. On January 1, 2011, he married his wife, Carolina Wegner (Long). Together with their son, Jayden, they lived in several states across the country, following his work until retiring in West Richland, WA, in 2024.

A lifelong man of action, Paul was rarely still. He filled his days with purpose: playing multiple sports, coaching his daughters' sports teams, enthusiastically participating in his son's video projects, even volunteering as a firefighter. Paul embraced every opportunity to explore the world, taking trips nearly every weekend while working as an airplane mechanic for Northwest Airlines in his 30s. In recent years, he traveled extensively, always seeking new experiences and cherishing time spent with family. Paul treasured keeping everyone connected, continuing the Egan family reunion as an annual tradition. He was an inventive craftsman, renovating every place and yard he'd ever lived. Paul was an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for hunting and fishing. His joy for life was contagious and he never left an experience unphotographed.

He is survived by his wife, Carolina Wegner; son, Jayden Hill; daughters Chelsea (Devon) Bisram, Lindsey (Leo) O'Day, and Marissa Wegner; grandchildren Elizabeth and Jasmine Bisram; and siblings Theresa (Steven) Cosgrove, James Wegner, and Robert Wegner. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes Wegner (Egan), and siblings Mary, Anne, William, and Edward Wegner.

We are deeply saddened to lose him but are thankful to have had him in our lives. Paul will be remembered for his beautiful smile, adventurous, silly, 'say yes' spirit, and the love he shared with family, friends, and everyone he knew. Our Disneyland dad <3

A celebration of his life will be held September 5th, 2026 from 12-4pm at Hidden Valley Park in Savage, MN.
