Paul David Sperline passed away quietly April 11th, 2017, a few days before his 91st birthday. Paul was born April 24th, 1926 in Pasco, Washington, to Albert and Bertha Sperline. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Delma June (nee Brown), his sister Vinnie and brothers Dale and Raymond, and his son Gary Alan Sperline, also of Kennewick, WA. Paul and Delma are survived by two of their three sons; Roger Paul Sperline of Tucson, AZ, and Lyle Alvin Sperline of Harrington, WA; and by Lyle's children; Randi Sperline of Bothell, WA, and Nicholas Sperline of Harrington, WA. After being honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps, he received a certificate of completion from the J.M. Perry Institute of Trades, Industries, and Agriculture, Yakima, WA, specializing in Industrial Instrumentation and Electronics in 1953. He was an instrumentation specialist and self-taught engineer with Hooker Electrochemical in Tacoma, WA, Philips Petroleum in Idaho Falls, ID, and General Electric, Donald W Douglas Labs, Holosonics, Exxon, and Battelle Memorial Institute, all in Richland, WA, and retired in 1998. His work included electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, acoustic, and mechanical engineering. He was active with the Boy Scouts for many years and volunteered with the Franklin County Historical Society. More recently he joined the Tool Club in the Tri-Cities and enjoyed collecting and exhibiting used and practical hand-tools, and woodcarving. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 15, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Franklin Co. Historical Society, Pasco, WA.
