Obituary

Patricia Ann Stevenson was born on July 12, 1948 in Longview, Washington. Her parents, Richard and Phyllis Barge, later moved to Puyallup where Patsy grew up and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1966. She was an active member of Rainbow and later Eastern Star. She attended Tacoma Community College and graduated from Central Washington University in 1970. Patsy worked in retail at Singer for a few years after college before later in life becoming an Elementary School Teacher for North Franklin School District. In 1974, she married Clifford Stevenson at the United Methodist Church in Puyallup, and then was sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. Patsy and Cliff met in high school and stayed connected through college where their friendship turned into a loving marriage that lasted 52 years even after Cliff's passing in 2021. They raised their daughter, Sherri, in Basin City and often took road trips as a family to the Southwest and East Coast.

Patsy had a sparkling personality and made friends easily. She was a master seamstress, a legendary school teacher, outstanding bowler, almost a pool shark, and loved to play games. If you were a stray cat, or person, you knew when you found Patsy that you had found a home. She loved teaching and taught third grade for 50+ years. She loved being a mother above all other things. Supporting and watching her daughter grow up was a joy for Patsy. She died on October 17th with her daughter Sherri and son-in-law Jarrod by her side holding her hand till the very end.
