Patricia (Patty) Lugene Orr Hornberger passed away on November 7, 2024 in Kennewick, Washington, 5 days before her 93rd birthday. She was born November 12, 1931 in Crown City, Ohio to the late John W. Orr, Jr and Lillian Lucinda Williams Orr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald William (Bill) Hornberger. She leaves behind children, Cherie (Stephen) Smith, Mark (Debi) Hornberger, Jennifer (David) Phipps; grandchildren Amanda (John Hultman), Ryan (Sydney) Phipps, Kyle Hornberger, Missy Hornberger; great grandchildren, Kelsey Hultman, Brooke Hultman, Ryker Phipps, Keylee Phipps.

Patty spent her early years, on her grandparents' farm in Crown City before moving with her mom and dad to Columbus, Ohio. Patty attended Columbus schools where she met Bill Hornberger. Early in their relationship, he told her that one day he was going to marry her. That day came on June 6, 1952 in Columbus. Both graduated from Ohio State University, Patty in Education and Bill in Engineering. In the following 28 years, they lived in Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and finally in 1970, moved to Kennewick, Washington.

Mom stayed at home for a few years before hiring on with the Kennewick School District, first as a teacher's aide at Park Middle School and then as a Kindergarten teacher at Westgate Elementary School. Patty retired in 1994, a few months after Bill passed away.

Friends may call at Life Tributes Center, 314 West 1st Avenue in Kennewick Washington 99336 on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 10:00AM. There will be no graveside services. Mom and Dad were together through life and we'll spread their ashes together at a later date.
