Patricia P. Hiller quietly went to be with the Lord on the evening of October 19th, 2017 at the age of 89 years at The Chaplaincy Hospice House surrounded by family and friends. Pat was born in Flint, Michigan in 1928. She attended Simpson Bible College where she was a member of a chorale group of 5 "Pats." They were accompanied by a trumpet trio that included Jack W. Hiller who eventually asked for her hand in marriage which took place on July 23rd, 1949 in Covina, California. Together they raised 6 children. She and Jack lived in many Pacific Northwest towns in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho where Jack was the pastor at a local church. She and Jack loved travelling and have driven as far as Newfoundland, Canada and Bradenton, Florida as well as visits to Oregon, California, Montana, Wyoming, and Michigan. Pat loved arts and crafts and was a professional drapery maker. She painted tole plaques, carved and painted statuettes for various occasions, made decorative candles; did embroidery, crochet, and knitting. She loved sewing and made clothes for her grandchildren as well as herself. She made beautiful quilts that are prized by those of us fortunate enough to have one. But her true love was gardening. She always had a beautiful yard with flowers and shrubs, some of which we couldn't even name. She always had a vegetable garden and could bring any plant back to life. But she did all this for her family which always came first. She created an extensively detailed illustrated history of our family to ensure we don't forget. She and Jack eventually settled in Kennewick, Washington after they retired to be near their family, and has lived the last five years at Brookdale at Meadow Springs where she made many friends and was very happy. She was preceded in death by husband Jack and son James S. Hiller. She is survived by brothers, David and Naomi Robinson; Dan and Nina Hardwick; Paul and Nancy Hardwick; and sister-in-law Nancy Stageburg; and her children: Jacqueline Foxworthy; Steve and Lorena Hiller; Philip and Victoria Hiller; Aaron Hiller; Sarah and Dave Barr; James' wife Lisa Hiller; and her 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. We will all miss her very much. She will be buried beside her husband Jack in the Veterans section of Desert Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at Bethel Church in Richland, Washington on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House.
