Patricia Godding, 97, a longtime Kennewick resident, passed away Monday, June 29, at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy in Kennewick after a short illness.

Patricia was born May 17, 1929, in Prosser, WA, to Thomas and Theresa Montgomery. She was a homemaker who later worked for about 20 years as an administrative assistant at Morrison Refrigeration and Heating in Pasco throughout the early 1980s.

With her late husband, John Godding, Patricia traveled the world on 17 different cruises. In their earlier years, John and Patricia were devout outdoors enthusiasts, enjoying camping, snowmobiling, and dune buggy outings in Washington and Oregon in their spare time. Patricia kept an eye on John's activities as their grandchildren delighted in outings on John's dune buggy and short (if illicit) snowmobile trips on city streets. Completing jigsaw puzzles and watching game shows, as well as keeping track of birthdays with cards – and coordinating Christmas gifts of money stuffed in tube socks – helped keep Patricia smart and sharp right until her passing. The diminutive and remarkable lady was driving a car to age 95, amazing even her doctors.

Patricia's gentle nature and love for her children, grandchildren, great-, and great-great grandchildren (including a recent addition, a baby boy who delighted her) made her the centerpiece of her family. She always made time for and lent a caring ear and a voice of reason, to a wide audience that went beyond family to include acquaintances of her many offspring. She was an ardent supporter of Camp Patriot, a Libby, MT nonprofit her grandson Micah Clark founded to provide recreational outings for war-wounded veterans and first responders.

Patricia's family thought her strength would power her to her centenary, but the Lord Jesus Christ called her home too early, leaving a hole in many hearts.

She is survived by four daughters, Sandra Clark (William); Janell Johnson (Mark); Michelle VanSickle (Randy); and Terri Fox (Thomas); a son, Brad Webber (Weijiang Duan); 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Douglas Montgomery; a stepson, Bill Godding; and a grandson, Mac VanSickle. Patricia was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kennewick.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday July 6th, 2026, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 506 S. Garfield St., Kennewick, with graveside services following at Riverview Cemetery. Viewing will be Sunday, July 5 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St., Kennewick, where a Holy Rosary service will be held at 6 p.m.
