Obituary

Orvil James Larsen of Kennewick passed away peacefully on October 17, 2018. He was preceded in death by parents, James and Melba Larsen, sister Norma Hadden, brother Thomas Larsen, and grand-daughter Allysa Larsen. Born January 15, 1932 in Ioka, UT, he was the oldest of eight children. He graduated from high school in Roosevelt, UT, in 1950, then spent a little over a year at Utah State University. He served in the US Navy 1952-1956, stationed in Pensacola, Florida. In 1956, while attending Brigham Young University to become an Industrial Engineer, he met Colleen Bennett. After five years of "thinking about it", he married Colleen in Santa Barbara, California, on September 8, 1961. They were later sealed in the Manti Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on January 3, 1963. They moved to Washington, to work for Boeing. In 1970, he went to work for Lamb Weston in Quincy, and then ended up in Kennewick in 1972 to work at Hanford, retiring in December 1994. After 57 years of marriage, dad leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, six children, Mark (Heidi) Larsen, Keith (Aracelis) Larsen, Ramona (Jon) Cravens, Susan (Eddie) Rea, Lynn (Abby) Larsen, and Mary Ann Mason; 18 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren (plus 3 on the way). We love you and will miss you very much! Funeral to be October 27, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 515 S. Union St., Kennewick. Viewing at 10am, funeral at 11am.
