Obituary

Norman Dale Johnson of Kennewick, WA went to be with Jesus on November 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pasco, Washington on October 24, 1936 to Severt M. Johnson and Marie (Johnson) White. Dale spent most of his life in Kennewick and graduated from KHS in 1954. Dale married the love of his life, Billie, on December 13, 1966. Together they raised 7 children and were blessed with 15 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Dale worked for many years at Hanford until he retired. He truly enjoyed his retirement and kept busy with his woodworking, making many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family. Dale also enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren as they played sports, watching movies with his grandchildren, going to car shows and, until recently, meeting with friends at McDonalds every week for coffee. Even with all these activities Dale always took time to work out and lift weights regularly, something he had done since his teens. Dale's family was the center of his life. He was devoted to them and blessed them with his kindness and generosity. He was a man of integrity and character. Everyone who knew Dale loved him. There are not enough words to describe this loving, gentle, and kind-hearted man. He will be greatly missed as husband, Dad, Papa, brother and friend. Dale was preceded in death by his father Severt Johnson, his mother Marie (Johnson) White, his son Steven Lessig and his son-in-law Vince Leonard. He is survived by his wife, Billie; his children Sue Leonard, Ann (Mike) Troutman, Lynn (Rick) Tedeschi, Marvin(Angie) Lessig, Tina(Mick) Moran and Eric (Roberta) Johnson; his sister Trudy(Mike)Lye; brother-in-law Tom (Sharon) Cole; sisters-in-law Linda (Richard) Cary and Debra (Tim) Kottke; his 15 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. It will be a time of reflection and dessert.
