Our loving mother, Nila E. Gulley, residing in Quail Hollow Specialty Care Community in Richland, was surrounded by her family when she went home to her Lord on March 15, 2006. Born March 5, 1914 in Oberlin, Kansas, she was one of 15 children. Nila moved to the Tri-Cities in 1943 with her husband Alvin ?Al? and their then four children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Alvin M. Gulley, her parents, two sisters and eleven brothers. Nila?s biggest joy was her family, followed by sewing. A loving and active member of all of her children?s families, after the death of her husband she continued as a mentor and caregiver for her grandchildren and great grandchildren in her spare time. She enjoyed dressmaking for many people in the Richland area and continued her art while living in the Renton, WA area. Nila is survived by one sister, Dorothy Armstrong of Sacramento, CA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Dale Gulley, and Stephen and Susan Gulley, of Richland; and four daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Lorin LaFoe of Chandler, AZ, Donna and Owen Jorgensen of Phoenix, AZ, Patricia and James McDougal and Susan and Russell Hughes of Renton, WA; She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Mom, you will be greatly missed by us all. Thank you for the unique view on life that you gave us. Union, Kennewick, followed by interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick. Viewing will be Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
