Our sweet Nikole Noelle Vargas, 30, was tragically taken from us on May 24, 2024. She was born in Kennewick, WA, on December 15, 1993, to parents Francisco Jalomo Vargas and Kim Marie Schrag. She was a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities area.

Nikole graduated from HomeLink Online School in 2013. Shortly after, she began her career in childcare at Kids World, West Richland. She took a brief break to pursue and obtain a CNA certification and care for her grandparents in Walla Walla. Her passion was always in childcare. She recently returned to her Kids World family in January 2024.

Nikole will be remembered for her bright smile, wild curly hair, and her blunt and dark sense of humor. Some of her favorite pastimes are taking road trips, cliff jumping at Goose Lake, and taking relaxing baths after work. Nikole was a caring individual who always ensured everyone else's well-being. She was a supportive listener and a comforting presence for her numerous friends and family members.

Nikole's family, who cherished her deeply, will forever hold her in their hearts. She is survived by her grandmother, Caroline McFarland; mother, Kim Schrag; sister and confidante, Victoria Vargas (Kassandra); sister, Vanessa Torres (Luis); brother, Marcos Vargas (Lainey); her lifelong friend, Megan Sams; her nephews and nieces; and uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Nikole is preceded in death by her father, Francisco Vargas; grandparents, Randy McFarland, Felix Vargas, and Santos Vargas; her aunts, Tracy Gerhold, and Mari Vargas; and uncles, Antonio Vargas, Michael Schrag, and Roy Vargas.

"Late at night when all the world is sleeping, I stay up and think of you. And I wish on a star, that somewhere you are thinking of me too."

Our family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support as we navigate the sudden and tragic passing of Nikole.
