Obituary

Newton Frederick Curly Willoughby of Kennewick was born on January 22, 1928 to parents Newton and Josephine Willoughby. He died on November 2, 2009 with his family at his side. Born in Neligh, Nebraska, his family moved to Kennewick in 1941. Newton met his future wife, Gwynn, at Castleberry's Diner in Richland and they married on December 24, 1948. He was a surveyor and later became a pipefitter working on various dams and other construction projects. Many a memory was created for children and grandchildren in the forests and on the beaches throughout the Pacific Northwest. He was a hardworking, honorable and loving man that cherished his family. Preceeded in death by his parents, brother Orville, infant daughter Sharon and son-in-law Joe Harshman. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gwynn, daughters Jane Martin Jim, Colleen Harshman, Kathy Martin Pat, son Chuck Willoughby Becky, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to join together with family on Saturday, November 7th at 10:00 am at Mueller's Chapel of the Falls, 314 W. First Ave., Kennewick.
