Obituary

A small-town girl from Kansas, Neita Faye Miller passed away serenely at the age of 97 at Cherry Creek Adult Family Home.

Born on April 30, 1928 in Jefferson County Kansas she was the daughter of Leroy Melville and Nellie Faye Bracken Dunn. Neita was delivered at her family home during the tumultuous Great Depression. Neita graduated from Perry High School in 1946 and later married the love of her life and partner, Russell Eugene Miller. It was the Legion Hall dance in Oskaloosa, Kansas where they began their long journey together. They married September 6th 1947 in Perry Kansas and continued as a couple for 62 long and glorious years all while raising six amazing children. Neita and Russell began in Kansas but soon after moved to Washington state where they lived the remainder of their lives in Kennewick.

Neita began working at the tender age of 16 at a meat packing plant as money was scarce and later performed office work. Neita moved on to be a cannery and factory employee for many years. While working several years on the night shift she became a supervisor.

Neita thoroughly enjoyed an array of sports, was very competitive at card games and collected numerous Beanie Babies which have been donated to a local hospital. Neita spent endless hours researching family genealogy, bird watching and was a master at confections such as Buckeyes and caramels. Her time with family was of course at the top of her priorities and she cherished it immensely.

Neita is survived by Daughters Lisa Lynn and Spouse Kelly Green, Lana Sue and Spouse Paul Beyers and by Son Russell Eugene Miller, Jr as well as 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Neita is also survived by Brother Larry L.V. Dunn and Sister Karen Sue Franklin.
