Nancy, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, died peacefully in her Kennewick home, Tuesday, September 17th, at the age of 82. Nancy was born in Red Lodge, Montana on October 11, 1930, the first child of Thorson and Beth. The family moved to Kennewick, Washington while Nancy was in high school. Her father, Thorson, was to be the Principal at Kennewick High School (KeHS) and Beth was employed as the physical education teacher. Nancy graduated from KeHS in 1948. That summer she had the honor of being named the Grape Festival Queen. She attended Washington State College (WSU) and, upon leaving Pullman, married Dale A. Westermeyer, also a KeHS graduate, on July 8, 1950. She worked with Dale at their business, Reese Concrete Pipe Company, for many years. She was active in the Republican Women's Club and politics. She was an active and faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Always active, the family enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing together. Dale and Nancy enjoyed their antique automobiles and Ye 'Ole Car Club brought many outings, parades and travels to their lives. Nancy enjoyed being a homemaker and wonderful Mom to her three children. With both sets of grandparents living in Kennewick, family birthdays and holidays were lovingly celebrated together. Nancy spent 20 years of her life happily married to John Brunke until his passing in 2010. John provided much loving care to Nancy in her declining years. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and sister Marva Saltz Jennings in 2007, her husband Dale A. Westermeyer in 1990, and her husband John Brunke in 2010. She is survived by her three children, Cyndi (Steve) Landon, Richland, WA, Kaye (Raymond) Coad, Palm Desert, CA, and Dan (Julie) Westermeyer, Kennewick, WA. She also leaves ten grandchildren: Dallas (Tara) Hitchcock, Jordan (Francisco) Rojas, Vanessa (Tobias) Kruse, Lauren (Ryan) Bailey, Lyndsee Landon, McKae Landon, Drew Westermeyer, Dane Westermeyer, Derk Westermeyer and Devin Westermeyer; and five great grandchildren, all of whom will miss her kind and generous spirit. The family wants to extend a special thank you to Mom's wonderful caregivers Pam Deller, Edith Robison, and Joy Newsome. We are so grateful for their loving kindness in the care of our Mom. A gathering in memory of Nancy will be held Saturday the 21st at 1:00, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, located at 2505 West 27th Ave., Kennewick, Washington. Immediately after the memorial service there will be a celebration of life reception. She is now with Our Heavenly Father and that brings us great joy. We will miss you but you will occupy a place in our hearts that will forever be held only by you. We love you, Mom. Always.
