Monica
Ramirez
Sep 15, 1965 — Jul 24, 2024
Monica A. Ramirez, known by many as Monk, Sis, Mom, Momma, Gma, Stinker,
and sometimes just plain ol' Monica, left this world on July 24, 2024, from
her home in Kennewick, WA. She was 58. She left a legacy of laughter, love,
and unforgettable quirks!
Born in California on September 15, 1965, Monica was destined to make the
world brighter, louder, and more stylish. She is survived by her five
incredible children: Tyler, Tiffany, Cole, Cody, and her baby (because
he'll always be the baby, no matter how old he gets), Casey. Her soulmate
and best friend Bob. Her father, Jay Nielson, and siblings Ken, Wayne,
Paul, and Dawn carry forward her vibrant spirit. She is now reunited with
her twin brother Alan, her sister Nita, her mother Laila, and brother
Michael, likely planning one heck of a family reunion up there.
Monica was busy being a mom to her grown-up kids. Her calendar was booked
being her daughter's best friend, daily phone calls, and after-work back
porch visits. She spent most Fridays catching up with her oldest son Tyler,
talking about home decor and remodels. Cole would Facetime and provide the
phone for endless chats that Mr. Calihan loved so much. Cody kept her up to
date on baseball, football, hockey, and any local sports they enjoyed
together. Casey, being her baby, her goals and time were spent trying to
get him settled down and start a family, always talking about how cute his
babies would be. She adored every second spending as much time as possible
with her grandbabies; Mykiah, Wesley, Hudson, Calihan, and Ozzy.
Monica had a gift for friendship. From her Salt Lake City roots to her days
in Dayton, and finally in Kennewick, she made friends like some people
collect knick-knacks. With her infectious laugh and signature sense of
style (let's not forget she won "Best Dressed" while working at Shopko),
she could light up a room and create lifelong friends naturally.
Monica developed a love for the simple pleasures in life: watching golf and
enjoying game shows like Jeopardy and Family Feud. Bob was always by her
side, helping her enjoy camping trips, Seahawks games, and the peacefulness
of the beautiful home they created that welcomed so many friends and family.
Monica's physical presence may be gone, but her spirit, laughter, and
big-hearted nature are still very much here. Her stories, her style, and
her signature laugh will echo through the lives of those who knew and loved
her.
So, Monica, as you head off to your next adventure—probably dressed to the
nines and giggling all the way—know that you've left behind a legacy of
love, laughter, and a lot of clean shoelaces. Rest in peace, dear Monica.
You were, and always will be, loved beyond measure.
