Mina Marie Caldwell Mina Marie Caldwell, 86, of Pasco, WA passed away on March 28, 2015, after a year-long battle with cancer. Mina was born in Stuart, NE in 1928. After graduating from high school in 1945 and attending business school in Omaha, NE she married Jack Caldwell from Mooreland, OK in 1947. They eventually settled in Sunnyside, WA in 1953 and purchased a Laundry business in Sunnyside, WA and a small farm in Outlook, WA. Mina ran the family owned laundry in Sunnyside, raised three children, and managed the farm when Jack was away working construction. After selling the laundry, they resided at the farm in Outlook until Jack's death in 2006. Shortly after, Mina sold the family farm and moved to Pasco. Mina was a natural born farmer and what would be termed today a Master Gardener. Her love of the outdoors and work ethic lent itself well to the demands of farm life. Family and friends upon visiting could easily be greeted with a homemade pie, fresh garden vegetables, or the aroma of pot roast about to be served for dinner. Grandchildren learned early on that Grandma Mina was a wonderful teacher. They learned how to make grits for breakfast, or how to carefully pull weeds in the garden without hurting the other plants, and the list goes on. They know now as adults these little chores were life lessons that would shape their character with tenacity and purpose for the years ahead. Mina is survived by her children - Barbara Carpenter of Pasco, WA; Mike Caldwell (Geri) of Silver City, NM; Dan Caldwell (Kathy) of Pasco, WA; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sister's Barbara Worley of Little Canada, MN, Helen Goodwin of Bartlesville, OK, and Faye Mata of Rocklin, CA ; and finally brother's David (Doris) of Omaha, NE and Donnie Moses (Norine) of Calistoga, CA . Mina, all 4 ft 10 inches and 93 lbs. of her, was tiny in stature; but a good heart, a will of iron, and blue twinkly eyes made a big impression. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memorial service will be held at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco, WA on April 9th at 1 pm.
